Goose Hollow is located in SW Portland across the 405 from Downtown, south of W Burnside and to the right of Washington Park. Many beautiful historic homes reside in Goose Hollow side by side with modern high rises and condo conversions. Goose Hollow is home to Providence Park, Artists Repertory Theatre and highly sought after Lincoln High School. The fact that the max runs right through this neighborhood and its close proximity to Washington Park, the Pearl District, Downtown and PSU make it a popular place to live for people wanting the urban experience with plenty of green space to explore.
Stephanie’s Top picks in Goose Hollow:
Eat: Palace Cakes for an afternoon pick-me-up slice of layer cake. Coconut Cream… yum – brings back sweet memories of the American South or Hawaii on gray (and sunny for that matter) Portland days.
Imbibe: Driftwood Room, located in the Hotel Deluxe, for an old Hollywood cocktail experience. Manhattans are my usual go to but if there is a drink on the menu name Elizabeth Taylor – that’s what I’m ordering. They also have a reverse happy hour 9pm to close and a lengthy regular happy hour 2pm to 6:30 for all you day drinkers (you know who you are…).
Play: Drop into a Pilates class with Miranda at Muv Training, a brand-spanking new gym that opened in summer of 2015. This ballerina will get you working in that sweet spot where your lower abdominals burn the next morning (one of the best feelings in the world IMO). Her music selection is inspiring and unexpected as well… I’m talking Polica and the Growlers. No 2011 Katie Perry playing here, ladies. Yay!
