Richmond

Richmond is another SE Portland neighborhood in the Clinton Division district (see Hosford-Abernethy post).   This neighborhood exists between SE 29th and SE 50th from left to right and Hawthorne and Powell Boulevards from top to bottom.  Richmond may also be referred to Hawthorne District due to its boundary line on the eclectic, hip stretch of Hawthorne Blvd.  Richmond remains one of my favorite places in SE Portland.  The more recent urban renewal on Division offering window shopping at boutiques and highly curated resale shops & upscale eateries married with the grittier cash checking, strip joint vibe of Powell creates an atmosphere that’s well… funky and pretty great in this girl’s opinion.

Steph’s Top Picks:

Eat:  Woodsman Tavern for brunch.  Fried chicken. Pancake.  Spicy maple syrup.  Yum.

Imbibe:  Southeast Wine Collective for a wine tasting event.  This urban winery contains a wine bar and event space.  Check out their calendar for happenings.

Play:  Clinton Street Theater to catch an independent film or participate in community theater.

Shop:  Carter & Rose for locally made accessories and art.  I bought some small-batch, hand-crafted grapefruit bitters for my husband made by the Bitter Housewife.
